Nyinngiri lives close to water -- when you see a flock of nyinngiri land on the ground that means there is water close by.
Other kuyu include large game (yawirri the kangaroo, maraji the hill kangaroo), karnanganja emu, kurtinja bush turkey, as well as liwanja fish, tangkila freshwater mussels, jipilayuku wood duck or whistle duck, and ngartata the local mud crab (although crab is no longer considered safe to eat because of contamination of its habitat).
